About ArabTaxCalc

ArabTaxCalc answers one question carefully: how much of my salary do I keep?

Hani, Founder & Tax Data Researcher

I am Hani, the founder of ArabTaxCalc. I built the site in 2026 because people working in the Gulf and the wider Arab world could not find one reliable answer to a simple question: how much of my salary do I keep? I review every page. Every rate is taken from the authority that issued it, with the date it was checked, and I update the figures when a rule changes. The site is independent and free.

Millions of people work in the Gulf and across the Arab world, and many more are weighing an offer there. The tax facts exist, but they are spread across government sites in different languages, change every year, and general salary sites rarely handle the difference between nationals and expats in the Gulf.

The site started in Arabic and this English edition covers the 23 Arab countries, with comparisons against the countries people most often move from.

What makes the site different

  • Official source first: every rate, band and cap is taken from the body that issued it where possible, with the link and the date we checked it on the sources page. Where an official source is not available we use a reliable secondary source and show a lower verification level.
  • Nationals and expats: where a country treats them differently, we calculate both.
  • Honest about limits: every country shows its verification level.
  • Privacy: calculations run in your browser and we do not collect salaries.

Funding

The site is free. Some Arabic pages show a clearly labelled banner for a product made by the same founder. Advertising never changes a figure or a ranking.
