Customs duty calculator 2026: how much will you pay on goods from abroad?
Choose the destination country and enter the value of the goods and the shipping cost to see the customs duty, excise tax and import VAT, for a personal parcel, a commercial import or goods in your luggage.
The full cost of any shipment = price of the goods + shipping + insurance + customs duty (a rate that depends on the type of goods, 5% for most goods in the Gulf) + excise tax where it applies + VAT on the total. Small shipments have special rules in each country, and some countries have scrapped the exemption altogether.

Frequently asked questions
How is customs duty calculated?
The full cost of any shipment = price of the goods + shipping + insurance + customs duty (a rate that depends on the type of goods, 5% for most goods in the Gulf) + excise tax where it applies + VAT on the total. Small shipments have special rules in each country, and some countries have scrapped the exemption altogether.
Is shipping included in the customs value?
Yes, in most Arab and European countries (the CIF basis: goods + shipping + insurance). The United States charges duty on the value of the goods without international shipping.
What is excise tax?
An extra tax on specific goods such as tobacco, energy drinks and sweetened drinks in the Gulf states. It is charged before VAT and is included in the VAT base.
How do I find the customs duty rate for a specific item?
Look up the item's Harmonized System (HS) code in your country's official customs tariff. The calculator uses the rates of the categories individuals buy most as an estimate.
