How to add or remove VAT

  • Add VAT: price before VAT × 1.19 = price including VAT. For example, 250 becomes 297.50.
  • Remove VAT: price including VAT ÷ 1.19 = price before VAT. The difference is the VAT. For example, 595 including VAT is 500 before VAT and 95 VAT.
  • Do not take 19% off a gross price: 19% of 1,190 is 226.10, but the VAT inside it is 190.
