How to add or remove VAT

  • Add VAT: price before VAT × 1.18 = price including VAT. For example, 250 becomes 295.
  • Remove VAT: price including VAT ÷ 1.18 = price before VAT. The difference is the VAT. For example, 590 including VAT is 500 before VAT and 90 VAT.
  • Do not take 18% off a gross price: 18% of 1,180 is 212.40, but the VAT inside it is 180.
