How to add or remove VAT

  • Add VAT: price before VAT × 1.15 = price including VAT. For example, 250 becomes 287.50.
  • Remove VAT: price including VAT ÷ 1.15 = price before VAT. The difference is the VAT. For example, 575 including VAT is 500 before VAT and 75 VAT.
  • Do not take 15% off a gross price: 15% of 1,150 is 172.50, but the VAT inside it is 150.
