- Calculated for a single person without children, under 70 and without a full medical card, employed for the whole of 2026 with salary as the only income.
- The PRSI rate rose from 4.2% to 4.35% on 1 October 2026. We assumed an even salary over the year, so the annual rate is 4.2375%. From 2027 it will be the full 4.35%.
- We did not include the My Future Fund auto-enrolment pension contribution, which started on 1 January 2026 at 1.5% of salary for people aged 23 to 60 earning 20,000 euros or more without an occupational pension, because you can opt out after 6 months.
- Other credits that may lower your tax and are not included: the Rent Tax Credit (up to 1,000 euros for a single person), the Single Person Child Carer Credit, and qualifying medical expenses.
- There is no income tax on salaries in Bahrain.
- The end-of-service contribution for non-Bahrainis is actually worked out on the basic wage plus the social allowance only, and rises to 8.4% after 3 years. We assumed the first 3 years and that the whole wage is basic.
- We assumed the contributory wage equals your gross salary and applied no wage cap, because we could not confirm its amount from an official source.
