Deductions on $3,000 a month, line by line
Every deduction from the same gross salary in each country, in local currency, with the calculator's notes.
- Your employer deducts tax monthly based on the expected annual salary (section 149).
- We have not included the EOBI contribution because it is 1% of the minimum wage, not of salary, so a few hundred rupees a month, and we could not confirm the minimum wage adopted for 2026-27. For the same reason we have not included the employer share (5% EOBI and 6% provincial social security for low-paid workers).
- A medical allowance of up to 10% of basic salary is exempt if your contract provides for it; we have not deducted it here.
- If you are not on the Active Taxpayers List (ATL), you pay higher withholding rates on banking, property and cars, but the tax on your salary itself does not change.
- There is no income tax on salaries in Bahrain.
- The end-of-service contribution for non-Bahrainis is actually worked out on the basic wage plus the social allowance only, and rises to 8.4% after 3 years. We assumed the first 3 years and that the whole wage is basic.
- We assumed the contributory wage equals your gross salary and applied no wage cap, because we could not confirm its amount from an official source.
