Moving from Turkey to Oman: what changes

  • On $3,000 a month you gain about $994 a month after the move ($11,926 a year), because the deduction rate falls from 33.1% to 0%.

  • Crypto gains: not taxed in Oman; not settled in Turkey.
  • Tax residence in Oman: In 2026 there is no tax residence test for individuals, because they pay no income tax. You may also stay tax resident in Turkey if you do not end your residence there. Count your days.
  • Turkey and Oman have a double tax treaty (in force, 2006). It decides which country taxes income when both could. Check other treaties.
