Kuwait end-of-service gratuity calculator 2026
Enter your last salary and how long you have worked to see the gratuity you are owed in Kuwait, whether you resign or the employer ends the contract.
Under Article 51 of Private Sector Labour Law No. 6 of 2010, a worker paid monthly is entitled to 15 days' pay for each of the first five years and a month's pay for each year after that, and the total gratuity cannot exceed 18 months' pay. It is calculated on the last pay including fixed allowances. Example: 5 years of service on a basic salary of 1,000 Kuwaiti dinars (1,400 with allowances) gives 3,500 Kuwaiti dinars when the contract ends or the employer ends it.

| 3 years | 1,050 | 2,100 |

| 10 years | 10,500 | 10,500 |
For an expat with a total salary of 1,400 KWD (basic plus allowances). Amounts in KWD.
How it is calculated
The 5-year example above, step by step:
- First 5 years: 5 × 15 days' pay = 3,500 dinars
- After 5 years: 0 × one month's pay = 0 dinars
- Article 51 of Private Sector Labour Law No. 6 of 2010: 15 days' pay for each of the first five years and one month's pay for each year after that, with the award capped at one and a half years' pay. Article 53 sets the shares due on resignation.
- It is worked out on the last wage including fixed allowances. We took 15 days' pay as half the monthly wage; some employers and courts work out the daily wage on a 26-day basis, which gives a higher amount.
