Deductions on $3,000 a month, line by line
Every deduction from the same gross salary in each country, in local currency, with the calculator's notes.
- Tax base = annual wage minus the employee social insurance share minus the personal exemption of 20,000 pounds, rounded down to the nearest 10 pounds.
- Your annual net income is above 600,000 pounds, so amended Article 8 applies to you: you lose some or all of the lower bands.
- Social insurance is worked out only on the maximum contribution wage of 16,700 pounds a month.
- There is no income tax on salaries in Saudi Arabia.
- We assumed the contributory wage equals your gross salary, up to the cap of 45,000 Saudi riyals a month. In practice the contribution is worked out on the basic wage plus housing allowance only, so if part of your pay is other allowances (transport, for example) the actual deduction will be lower.
- Nothing is deducted from a non-Saudi employee's salary. The employer pays 2% for occupational hazards, and the employee is entitled to an end-of-service award when the contract ends.
