Deductions on $3,000 a month, line by line
Every deduction from the same gross salary in each country, in local currency, with the calculator's notes.
- Calculated under the rules of the Tax Authority in Aden (the internationally recognised government). Areas under the Sanaa authorities apply different amendments and a different currency.
- Daily-wage workers are exempt from tax under Article 50, subject to the conditions in the executive regulations.
- There is no income tax on salaries in Saudi Arabia.
- We assumed the contributory wage equals your gross salary, up to the cap of 45,000 Saudi riyals a month. In practice the contribution is worked out on the basic wage plus housing allowance only, so if part of your pay is other allowances (transport, for example) the actual deduction will be lower.
- Nothing is deducted from a non-Saudi employee's salary. The employer pays 2% for occupational hazards, and the employee is entitled to an end-of-service award when the contract ends.
